Fury fail to pull clear at top

North Queensland Fury missed the chance to move three points clear of the foot of the A-League table as they were held to a 1-1 home draw by Wellington Phoenix. The draw moved the Fury a point ahead of basement boys Sydney FC and to within a point of third-bottom Perth Glory. Substitute Ricardinho scored a 90th-minute winner to earn Melbourne Victory a 2-1 win at home to Newcastle Jets. Carlos Hernandez put Melbourne in front in the 20th minute only for Ruben Zadkovich to equalise nine minutes after the restart. But the hosts introduced Ricardinho in the 77th minute and it proved an inspired substitution as he won the game at the death.
